The 20-Minute Storm Season Checklist

Every spring we get the same calls, and half of them were preventable in twenty minutes the month before. Here is the checklist, no ladder required.

• Walk the yard after a windy day and look for granules or shingle pieces
• From across the street, sight along each slope for waves or lifted tabs
• Check ceilings and attic for stains after the first hard rain
• Watch the downspouts in rain: weak flow means blocked gutters
• Photograph your roof on a clear day, so you have a before picture if a storm hits
