Storm & Hail Damage

The damage an adjuster looks for is not the damage you can see.

Hail rarely tears shingles off. It bruises the mat under the granules, and that roof leaks two winters later. We document it before it becomes your problem.

What hail actually does to a roof

Most homeowners look for missing shingles. Adjusters look for bruises.

A hailstone crushes the fiberglass mat beneath the granules. From the ground the roof looks fine. What has really happened is that its remaining life just got cut in half, and the failure shows up long after the claim window has closed.

  • Circular bruises that feel soft under a thumb
  • Granules washed into gutters and downspouts
  • Dents in soft metal: gutters, vents, flashing
  • Collateral marks on window screens, siding and AC fins
  • Wind creasing along ridges and rake edges

The claim, step by step

We do the documenting. You do the deciding.

1

Same-day tarp

If the roof is open, it gets covered before anything else happens.

2

Full documentation

Every slope photographed, test squares marked, soft metal recorded. This is the evidence the claim rests on.

3

We meet your adjuster

On the roof, at no charge. When both sides look at the same evidence, the conversation gets short.

4

Scope agreement

We reconcile our scope against theirs and flag anything missed before you sign.

5

The work

Scheduled around your deductible and the weather, not around our calendar.

After a storm

What to do, and what to avoid.

Do this

  • Photograph the yard and gutters before cleaning anything
  • Note the date of the storm, insurers ask for it
  • Get the roof looked at within the claim window, usually one year
  • Keep receipts for any emergency work

Avoid this

  • Signing with a door-knocker the day after a storm
  • Letting anyone start work before the adjuster has seen it
  • Paying a large deposit up front
  • Assuming no missing shingles means no damage
Claim questions

Insurance, answered plainly.

A weather claim is not the same as an at-fault claim, and in most Tennessee policies a single storm claim does not move a premium on its own. Ask your agent before filing; we will not pressure you either way.
Most policies give you a year from the date of the storm, but the sooner it is documented the stronger the claim. Damage gets harder to attribute to a specific event over time.
A denial is often a scope disagreement, not a verdict. We can request a re-inspection and present the documentation again. Sometimes the answer really is no, and we will tell you that too.
No. In Tennessee that is insurance fraud, and any contractor offering it is telling you something about how they run the rest of the job.
